What benefits am I entitled to under Workers’ Compensation?
If you are injured on the job, there are a handful of things that you must do to protect your rights under the law governing worker’s compensation laws. First, you always need to provide notice to your employer that you have been injured and that you need medical treatment. You are entitled to two major benefits assuming that your employer has worker’s compensation insurance and is subject to the law. Typically this is any employer with three or more employees.
You are entitled to medical care as it relates to your injury; and, if you are required to leave your job due to the injury for more than seven days, you may be entitled to income benefits.
