We received a call the other day about someone who was trying to obtain help with a work injury. They had worked for an employer and did something that hurt their shoulder. And the shoulder got worse. It got worse. And they went to their own doctor. They never gave the employer notice or told the employer that this was because of an on the job injury. And when I talked to the person they said, “Well, they know.” I said, “Well, they might not know.” Whenever we pull them into a hearing. And so it’s critical that you need tonotify them. Well, it’s been about six months now. “Now, I’m ready to have surgery.” There are things that can prevent you from bringing a claim six months down the road. That’s why it’s very very very very critical that you give your employer notice. as quickly as possible. Stay safe. Contact Georgia Workers Compensation Attorney if you have any questions. Protect yourself. Stay safe!
